New Wave English Hub

New Wave English Hub are one of 34 DfE English Hubs New Wave – Alban Teaching School Hubdesignated English Hubs working across England to support schools to improve the teaching of Early Language and Reading. Each hub has been chosen for its track record in excellent phonics and reading teaching!

New Wave English Hub are very proud to be supporting primary schools to improve their teaching of: early language, phonics and reading for pleasure. They provide funding, guidance and professional development for colleagues across north-east London and across the east of England. They offer a huge range of support for all schools in our regions: from intensive partnerships to stand-alone webinars; from early reading audits to short courses.

The English Hub programme has Dfe funding for this academic year and (up to £5000) can be used for your school to spend on resources, training and decodable books aligned to your chosen phonics programme, following an audit. Please see the flyer below.

To schedule an audit, whilst funding is available, please complete the short referral form and we will be in touch.

We also have a wealth of CPD online and in-person training courses and to book onto these, please see our webpage.

They offer a range of online and face-to-face, generic and bespoke support for schools:

They are based at Grazebrook Primary School in Hackney, London. Whilst their school follows Read Write Inc, their Literacy Specialist team has knowledge of all systematic synthetic phonics programmes, and they support schools regardless. To date, the New Wave Hub has worked with over 500 schools in their region to raise reading standards in schools and improve the educational outcomes for the most disadvantaged children.
